Albizia "Summer Chocolate Silk Tree" pp13822 (Albizia julibrissin) with its striking burgundy foliage, this purple leaf Mimosa is a much sought after small tree, always stops people in there tracks. Leaves emerge green, but quickly turn reddish purple in the sun all summer. Grows very quickly to the height & width of 20 ft. The flowers remain the same light pink color of the species, & are spectacular against the dark purple foliage. Very easy tree thrives even in the poorest soils. Plant it in a sunny location & it will light up your yard. Quite rare in the market place. Cercis Redbud tree “Don Egolf” Is a new compact red bud from the National Arboretum. Brilliant rosy - mauve flowers cover every inch of the stems in the spring. Absolutely stunning!!! At 6 to 8 feet in height it is a great choice for small gardens. Redbuds are one of our most beautiful native trees. Handsome heart shaped dark green foliage, and no messy seeds like most Redbuds. Cercis Red Bud Tree "Forest Pansy" is a small deciduous tree with a spreading crown growing to 15 to 25 feet tall. Attractive heart shaped trees open bright reddish purple, gradually matures to a soft purple. Fall color often includes shades of reddish - purple and orange. Here is a peachy keen new Redbud Tree. "The Rising Sun" Golden Redbud Tree has appealing pumpkin -orange new growth. The brilliant golden tangerine heart shaped leaves, show no burning even in full sun! The leaves slowly turn a pretty lime by mid summer, but the tree can have peach and gold and lime leaves, all at the same time. What a breathtaking sight! A vigorous grower, going to 12 feet in height (A perfect home size); has tan bark with a yellowish tint, that extends the peachy theme into winter. Japanese Cedar "Yoshino" (Cryptomeria japonica) has been one of my favorite ever green tree's since childhood. The tree has a light airy, almost feathery texture to its needles. Very rapidly growing (2 ft a year once established) 30 - 40 ft high in a nice pyramid shape, with no pruning. Turns a bronze green in winter, & returns to an emerald green in summer. The red lace leaf maple "Inaba Shidare" (Acer palmatum) is among the best weeping red lace leaf maples, for its leaf color retention in summer, its scorch resistance & all round vigor & hardiness. The Japanese Umbrella Pine Tree (Sciadopitys verticillata) this is a delightful specimen of Japanese Umbrella Pine at my parents farm house. Makes a natural conical shape with no pruning. Very distinctive needles, that looks like miniature umbrellas. Very slow growing but long lived tree. The one in picture is around 30 years old. Plants in 2 gal pots $29.00 each. Zones 5 - 8.
